To Sgt. Royce Scott & The 115th The Other Side Our perception of something can often blind us though our eyes are open wide; Then something happens that forces us to see things from the other side. Being in the National Guard was perceived by some a week-end, a month of fun for pay; We never thought that they would actually go to war to fight for peace and freedom one day. Two weeks a year they would go to camp "playing war games " we would say with a grin; The other side is now they are fighting for real a war they must surely win. To some the guards was a group of friends buddies with whom thay could pass the time; The other side is they trust each other with there lives "I watch your back and you watch mine". They are courageous men and women bound together for a comman cause; When ask to fight for peace on earth they done so without even a pause. We are honored just to know you all and you fill our hearts with such pride; And we thank you for letting us look through your eyes so we could see the other side. by Doris Channell

Spoken or unspoken, love is the greatest, most compelling of all human emotions.To me, loving is a total commitment; a complete surrender of the heart, the mind and the soul. Loving is one’s deep and intense concern for the life, well-being and security of another. If perhaps, you have some special needs, both of you should make every effort to achieve the others fulfillment. If, at times, you feel lonely, cheer each other and dispel your loneliness to the other. If you ever need to share your innermost thoughts, you may pour your heart out, and the other should listen. If you ever need sympathy, try to comfort each other with words, touch and your presence. If your needs are understandably intimate and human, share your sleep and be together in the intimacy of your dreams. But only the commitment of your love will make this possible. I have lived by this for over thirty years of marriage to a wonderful soldier, whom is now a retired First Sergeant, U.S. Army. Throughout his active duty and even now, I supported him and the military in every way and I think, no I know by doing this and living by love’s commitment, we have been together for thirty years and he is still a GREAT SOLDIER, and most of all a wonderful person. Susan, 14 years ago you stole my heart, you made me want you like I have never wanted anything in my life and I want you even more today. I never knew I could love anything or anyone as much as I love you, it amazes me sometimes. You have brought me more happiness than one man ever deserves and I will spend the rest of my life trying to repay you for that.
