My Soldier, My Son

I Looked into my soldier's eyes and my thoughts raced back to times ,

of playing patty cake & peek- a - boo and reading nursery rhymes.

As precious memories come flooding in, for you, I thank the Lord above,

because once again he has let me know the wonder's of a mother's love.

You are my little soldier boy and I am so proud of the man you've grown to be, Meer words can not began to express just how much you have given to me.

You give me sunshine on a cloudy day and laughter when I'm sad and blue,

when I think I am at the end of my rope, all I do is think of you.

You give me light when darkness comes and warmth when I am cold,

When I am weak you give me strength, you make me brave and bold.

You give me a shoulder on which I can lean when I can't make it on my own,

because you are a part of my life, I know I will never be alone.

Thanks to you I know the joy of a love unlike any other,

it's a special love that can only be shared between a son and his mother.
